Poole Town take on Alton on Non League Day
2nd September 2010

Poole Town FC have started the season in fine goal scoring form, having found the net 21 times in the first 6 games.  The Defence has not been as strong as last season, with changes in the back four, but that seems to be under control now with recent signing of Jake Smeeton from Dorchester and a clean sheet in the last home game, a 3-0 win in the FA Cup.

Saturday is National Non League Day (www.nonleagueday.co.uk). As England play Friday there are no top flight games this weekend, supporters from the top two leagues are encouraged to support football at the grass roots.  Also AFC Bournemouth are away from home.  So come to Tatnam and show your Season Ticket or a Ticket Stub to any game in the Football League this season for entrance at just £1, yes £1.

Poole Town are currently firing on all cylinders and this same fixture last season resulted in a 4-0 win for Poole Town with the away fixture ending 6-1 in Poole Towns favour.  Expect goals, expect entertainment, expect a warm welcome and expect to want to come back!

Last seasons top scorer, Steve Smith who netted 33 times in 55 appearances (27 of which were as a substitute) is again in fine form having already scored 8 in 6 appearances.

Steve is shown below scoring his most recent goal, against Bishop Sutton in the FA Cup on Saturday:
