Poole Town FC were made to work hard to break down a well organised defence and good goalkeeping display from Brading, who had little to show up front.
The score was still 0-0 after 60 minutes when Tommy Killick made the tactical decision to switch to three at the back and throw on Stuart Brown to make it three up front. It paid dividends almost immediately as Stuart rose to head the Dolphins in front. Not long afterwards Carl Preston broke free and ran at the keeper one-on-one and slotted the ball home, to put the game beyond Brading.
Poole Town lost at Brading earlier in the season to a controversial goal which video evidence showed, did not cross the line. http://www.isstv.tv/video/430/20091107_poole_town_football_club_brading/
There were no such incidents this time as Poole took at three points to remain 5 points behind leaders Wimborne with 5 games in hand.
Next up for the Dolphins is the away trip to Blackfield & Langley on Tuesday night and the chance to close the gap on Wimborne, who don't have a game.
Poole Town are back at Tatnam on Saturday when they will face Brockenhurst and hope that Wimborne fail to win which would see Poole back at the top of the league.
