Photographing the Opening of Bridgend County Show

With the ongoing challenges facing our high streets, it was fanastic to see the Bridgend County Show draw the crowds this weekend.  I had the opportunity to photograph the opening networking meeting on Friday, where Carwyn Jones and Huw Irranca-Davies spoke passionately about Wales and the political and economic landscape post-Brexit.

When photographing events like this, my aim is to get images that reflect the character of those speaking, the atmosphere of the event and as many candid shots as possible.  There are always the necessary 'shaking of hands photos', but these need to be intermixed with images that reflect the vibe of an event.

The positioning of thebestof banner could not have been better and can be seen behind the speaker on many of the photographs. An easy way to increase a company's profile.

Ian Case of Caseyoli, Chairman of the event, had energy oozing out from underneath his bowler hat.

Friday was a great start to the weekend show and illustrates the importance of local events such as the Bridgend County Show.  Photographs from the opening can be seen on my website.
