Are you looking to buy your first home? Do you live or work in Rhondda Cynon Taf?

If so make sure FIRST viewing is of a ‘Homestep’ property!

The Homestep scheme is made available by Rhondda Cynon Taf Council in partnership with housing developers, housing associations and the Welsh Assembly Government’s Heads of the Valleys Programme.

Unique to Rhondda Cynon Taf, Homestep’s aim is simple – to help first-time buyers on to the property ladder via:

Homestep: This retained-equity scheme enables you to buy a brand-new home on modern and attractive developments for up to 75% of the market value. There is n rent to pay on the remaining equity and this makes the property more affordable. You can purchase the remaining share any time after a period of 12 months.

Homestep Plus: helps buyers purchase and renovate empty properties in their local communities. You identify a property you are interested in and let us do the rest! Our partner organisation will renovate the property if required and you can purchase the property at up to 70% of the market value. This scheme is only available in the Heads of the Valleys area within Rhondda Cynon Taf.

A perfect example of this is Church Row, Trecynon, a newly-refurbished starter home for a single owner or a couple – just £49,000 with no deposit. Contact Homestep to find out more.

Registering with the ‘Homestep’ scheme is just as important as registering with estate agents when you want to purchase a home.
