Equality & Diversity Support for SMEs  - FREE OF CHARGE


This support is available to all companies that employ less than  25 employees.


The object of the support of the Equality & Diversity Advisor is to raise the understanding and application of equality legislation and good practice in SME’s within Wales, to improve business performance, increase employment and promotion opportunities for people from socially excluded and minority groups and to develop equality and diversity best practice in areas of HR management within SMEs. 


The main purpose of the Equality & Diversity advisor’s role will be to affect a cultural change in the SMEs worked with.  This will be done by ensuring the SME understands and is committed to the business benefits of equality and diversity.  They must be empowered to implement, monitor and develop the policies and procedures developed with them. 



The Equality & Diversity advisor will also evaluate the work undertaken by the individual SME to determine levels of success.



It is envisaged that the service/package to be provided to may incorporate the development of Equal Opportunities Policy and Monitoring; Contracts of Employment and related policies, plus the development of good and best practice in recruitment and selection.


Typical support is 2.5 days and is funded by the EU Networks project  therefore De-Minimis rules apply.
