Big Weekend For Posh

The last weekend in April will be a pivotal weekend for Peterborough United in their fight to remain in the second tier of English football, The Championship, as they take on relegation rivals Sheffield Wednesday at London Road.

Posh currently sit one position above the relegation zone thanks to a superior goal difference tally, which manager Darren Ferguson admits is a success in itself given the position the club were in at Christmas.

However, their first defeat in 11 matches last weekend, a 3-1 away defeat to Derby, has left them with a lot still to do to preserve their status as a Championship club. They will face Sheffield Wednesday, who are three places above Posh, this Saturday (27 April) and will be hoping to take 3 crucial points, as fellow relegation rivals Huddersfield and already relegated Bristol City go head to head.

All being well, Peterborough will go to Crystal Palace on the final day of the season needing only a point to secure survival, but will be looking for favourable results elsewhere.

This Saturday’s game will be broadcast live on Sky TV. Kick off is at 17:20 and Posh have just 1,000 tickets remaining at the time of writing. Get down and support Peterborough United and help the boys do the city proud!
