The Worlds End in Ecton

In an uncertain economic clime, one of the first industries to be hit is Restaurants. However, The Worlds End in Ecton is really bucking the trend and it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to see why!

Andrew Chapman and his team took over The Worlds End in January 2006 and over a 3 month period, transformed it into one of the greatest ‘one stop destination venues’ in Northamptonshire.

Whether you’re meeting friends for a casual catch up, looking for an elegant venue to meet business clients, hold a conference for your employees or have a private party for up to 50, then The Worlds End really lives up to all expectations.

I met up with Andrew on a Tuesday lunchtime and was really taken by how busy the Restaurant was, with business people and families alike.

Andrew explained ‘We have a team of 24 here at The Worlds End, many of whom have been with me since we opened. They take pride in their service and are always cheerful. I like to lead by example, which is why you often see me serving customers. I’m not the type to sit in my ivory tower!’

‘One of the main misconceptions that people have about The Worlds End is that it is still just a pub. That’s simply not the case. We have fully equipped conference facilities for up to 30 people with flexible catering arrangements, we have 20 luxury boutique bedrooms to cater for those who want to make a weekend of it, with room service and cooked breakfasts and our Restaurant offers fresh, local produce, all cooked from scratch. We don’t serve anything that’s been frozen. It may take a while to cook, but it’s really worth the wait’.

And I can vouch for that. I had the ‘special’s’ that day and was really impressed with the range of food and the freshness of the beetroot gradavlax and the trout topped with toasted flaked almonds. The ambience of the Restaurant is relaxing and friendly, even down to the music that is pre-set to exactly the right volume not to be intrusive and the pictures on the walls that were specially commissioned to complement the relaxing but elegantly modern Restaurant.

But it doesn’t end there! There are 2 other bars to enjoy here at The Worlds End and their magnificent, heated decking area is just perfect for al fresco dining.

Now if you’re looking for a venue for a private party, then maybe the Cellar Bar could be the place for you. With flexible catering facilities for up to 50 guests and your own staff, any celebration will be a success here – and your guests can stop over in one of their 20 luxury bedrooms, whether they’ve come from near or afar.

Andrew told me that they’re having a Champagne Gourmet Dinner Evening soon for up to 60 guests….. and do you know what? It’s been sold out for weeks! Somehow, I’m not at all surprised and know it’ll be a fabulous event!

‘2nd time I’ve been this week and twice as good as last time. Excellent’. Paul Evans
