How daft is this? Northampton Business Man Guilty of Un-Joined Up Thinking!

We were speaking with a local business man last week who mentioned that he wanted to speak with a local mobile phone company to see if they could do business together.  Nothing wrong with that, I hear you think.  Well, of course there's nothing wrong with that, but in the next breath he told us that he'd just gone on the internet and purchased 5 i-phones online because they were £10 cheaper!  Now, there really IS something wrong with that.

This is not joined up thinking.  I couldn't believe what I was hearing!  If he had thought a little bit more about what he was doing and was a little bit smarter in his strategy, he would probably be doing more business now locally, instead of worrying about where his business is going to come from!

Our 'Buy Local' campaign is being embraced by the local council, both Brian Binley and Sally Keeble have offered their support and I was interviewed on BBC Radio Northampton last week about it.

All we want to do is to make Northampton a brighter, more pleasant place to be.  We would love Northampton people to take part in our survey and tell us what they want to see on their High Streets - whether it's the Wellingborough Road, the Market Square, St Giles Street or Derngate. What would make YOU come into Northampton to shop or have a night out?

It's a simple survey - will only take 3 minutes to complete, and we'll be providing the results of it in about 3 months time.  If you care about Northampton, then help us to help you and have your say at www.thebestof.co.uk/survey
