  • Friday 30th January 2:00pm until 3:30pm
A care home in Newbury is welcoming the local community to its café to build new friendships with their neighbours.

On the last Friday of every month, from 2pm-3.30pm, Care UK’s Winchcombe Place, on Maple Crescent, will be opening its doors to those supporting people living with dementia and stroke to foster new friendships.

During the sessions, attendees will have the opportunity to make new friends over a hot drink and a tasty, home-baked treat. The home’s friendly team will also be on hand to provide helpful advice and tips, while signposting attendees to other relevant services within the community.

Visitors can also learn more about the care and lifestyles on offer at Winchcombe Place and take a tour of the home’s facilities.

Claire Cullen, Home Manager at Winchcombe Place, said: “We are dedicated to making a positive difference in our community, and we believe no one should ever feel alone.

“Creating strong support networks is vital, and our Friendship Café is designed to do just that – offering a welcoming space where people can relax, connect, and enjoy each other’s company.

“We’re excited to open our doors, meet new faces, and share conversations over a cup of tea and a slice of cake.”

Designed to enable residents to live active and fulfilled lives, while also promoting independence, Winchcombe Place provides full-time residential and dementia care, as well as short-term respite care, in luxury surroundings. The home incorporates plenty of space for leisure activities and hobbies and boasts its own café, cinema room and hair and beauty salon.
