This is a non-specialist course focussed on the Newbury area, covering the First and Second Battles of Newbury, the Siege of Donnington Castle, and surviving 17th-century buildings locally.
This is a non-specialist course focussed on the Newbury area, covering the First and Second Battles of Newbury, the Siege of Donnington Castle, and surviving 17th-century buildings locally. These together with other themes will help to build up a picture of the Newbury area during the 17th-century, with an opportunity to focus on specific villages or topics of interest. David Peacock has researched, written about and taught the history of West Berkshire and the Newbury area for many years.
