We will search for spring butterflies including Small Blue, Dingy Skipper and maybe Duke of Burgundy, plus day-flying moths.
Join us on a trip to BBOWT Seven Barrows Nature Reserve: nationally important for its archaeology as well as its wildlife, this ancient and atmospheric site has a wonderful variety of chalk grassland flowers and butterflies.
We will explore areas of grassland on the reserve to see some of our spring butterflies and other wildlife. We will also stroll along the road and up the track towards Crog Hill to see what we can find there. Target species: Dingy Skipper, Small Blue, possibly Duke of Burgundy and day-flying moths.
Accessibility & risks: flat, firm, uneven in places. Please check for ticks after the walk and let the leader know if you have picked up any ticks. (Tick advice)
Please check here the evening before the walk to make sure it is going ahead as planned. This page will be updated regularly.
Meet by Reserve car park, north of Lambourn (the track can be muddy and uneven).
