A warm welcome to Jolly Jungles, KH Electrical, White Wine Foods Ltd and Carlton Walled Garden Nursery.

Jolly Jungles for all you mums out there may well be your saviour during this very wet August. Warm, coffee, snacks and plenty of space to tire out the kids

KH Electrical has built up a reputation for providing a reliable electrical service in the Newark and Southwell area. I know Kev the owner and he is professional and trustworthy. KH Electrical are specialist electricians and are NICEIC Approved Domestic Installers so you can be reassured that you have the right man for the job - whatever the job!

White Wine Foods Ltd on Appletongate http://www.thebestof.co.uk/newark/64333/1/1/the_best_of.aspx

has a reputation for producing creative, award winning menus. You just have to look at Colin White's mouth-watering pictures of some of the dishes on his Best of Newark feature to see why they are such reputable caterers. Gwen and Colin work extremely hard from start to finish of any event to ensure everything is perfect. When I saw Gwen last week she was off to pilates to make sure she is in tip top form to endure the physical demands of the job. It is easy to see why this couple is so successful. If you haven't yet been into their wine shop on Appletongate it really is worth a visit before going home at night.

And if you are looking for something to do over the Bank Holiday or before September creeps up on us, go to Carlton Walled Garden Nursery (although this is actually a garden for all seasons). It is stunning - with 2 acres of display walled gardens and a real bestofnewark gem. The owners Paul and Suzanne have a passion for natural gardening and nurturing seedlings and plants, many of which are grown on the site. You can purchase rare and unusual perennials, Mr Fothergill's seeds, an extensive range of shrubs, basket and bedding plants. Although if you are not buying, these gardens are still worth a visit, 5 minutes from Newark, just off the A1. I guarantee once visited - you will return.

We go out of our way at thebestofnewark to uncover the real gems of Newark and Southwell and I believe these featured members fulfill that role.
