Summary of the Week for Newark
17th September 2010
... Comments

Thought I would do a weekly summary of what's happening in and around Newark - make sure everyone is in the loop.

1/ The Wheatsheaf Inn at Dry Doddington, a fab local pub that does outstanding food, (I should know I have seen all the menus and a friend texts me when she is eating there to tempt and taunt me!) has been included in the prestigious Michelin Eating Out In Pubs Guide. The Wheatsheaf is quickly becoming well known for its Sunday lunches, which feature roast beef reared, by farmer Vic Kerr and his family within two miles of the pub. Double congratulations to Katie and Dan as they are also getting married on the weekend

2/  Congrats also to Jon at Jon Brambles Estate Agents - our recommended estate agent who has the highest conversion rate of any agent in Newark. This is based on an independent survey by For Sale Signs Analysis collected on 17-18 August 2010. So if you have a house to sell locally this is obviously the estate agent you need to choose.

3/ Rushtons are currently running a great offer which Adam tells me will end on October 14. The offer is a FREE bottle of wine AND the lowest priced meal FREE. All you need to do is book a table for 4 or more on a Monday - Thursday evening. Get booking a.s.a.p because I predict this offer will 'fly'

4/ Weaver Flooring have just done our carpets after an in-house flood and I just want to say thank you for their patience, support  and all round perfect service!

5/ Air Ambulance, Lincs and Notts, are fundraising to keep flying. A four year old girl was airlifted to Queen's Medical Centre in Nottingham after being hit by a car in Grantham last week.  I am pleased to report that although traumatised Tia is now back home. The Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance is a dedicated medical air service which first began operations in Lincolnshire in April 1994. Based at RAF Waddington, south of Lincoln, and unaffected by road congestion, country roads, heavy vehicles or road works the Helicopter can reach any destination in Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire in 19 minutes
There is a prize draw on September 26
