Snow at Christmas?

Grantham at 7.00am was dry but by mid-morning the town was gridlocked as the sky filled with snow and temperatures fell below freezing. If you were one of the poor unfortunates trying to get out or stuck on the A1 then my sympathies go out to you. The incline at Little Ponton was causing major tailbacks.  Only twenty minutes north, Newark was clear and our dentist in Lincoln couldn't quite believe we had experienced heavy snow. Police have reported a number of accidents in villages around Stamford, Spalding and Grantham.

For those of you in Newark who have perhaps only experienced the misfortunes of travelling snowbound or missed the picturesque side of winter, here are a few photos of Beanos Wood today dressed in white, just 12 miles down the A1.
