The Highways Agency gives us safe roads, reliable journeys......and lots of roadworks. I live near Grantham where the delays to simple journeys, in the interest of improving our roads, have become something of a bad joke. Anyway just to let you know a full closure of the A52 will take place between 10pm on 29 August to 6am on Monday 1st September. Further weekend closures are scheduled on 5 to 8, 19, 22 and 26 to 29 September. Traffic will be diverted via the A46 to Newark and the A1 to Grantham or vie se versa. Controlled local access will be maintained.
So guys we have been informed - delays are expected and you should use extra time for your journeys if you are travelling anywhere between Bottesford and Barrowby. As I live my life at break neck speed anyway this is enough to send me over the edge. I can't stand sitting in traffic, it seems the biggest waste of life. But it looks like I am going to have to turn that music up loud and just slow down a little as I move between Newark and Grantham during September.
If you see a woman tearing her hair out and gnashing her teeth .....avert your eyes!
