Are you in Newark for Easter?

I know - Costa Smeldera is the very definition of a billionaire's playground but maybe for a few chosen ones Easter comes down to decorating our own hard boiled eggs and making a simnel cake.

And although city chic is the big story this Easter week some of us may just have to hang around Newark on our non-working days!

So what can we do:

  • The Barn Gallery in Southwell is showing their Spring exhibition programme called Distant Horizons which includes Tea Party ceramics
  • For the toddlers there is an Easter Family Treasure Hunt (and note well that includes Dads) at Belvoir Castle
  • For the family Springfield Outlet Shopping and Festival Gardens in Spalding have a lot going on; Easter Egg hunts, performances by the Octavius Steel Band and Vocalist, Danielle Turnell, activity walks, free tours of Festival Gardens by Head Gardener Andy Boynton, fantastic musical fountains, children's amusements and rides and the obligatory face painting
  • Eating out- I suggest Rushtons on Stodman Street. If you want a drive out of Newark; Farndon Boathouse or Forever Green near Mansfield, The Old Reindeer or The Generous Britton in the beautiful village of Brant Broughton are all good bets.
  • For those who want to celebrate the resurrection of Christ - St Magdalene Church in Newark has services every day Thursday - Sunday

I plan to add to this Easter list for those of us remaining behind!
