It was great to see so many people at the launch of the Shire Hall Market in Monmouth on Saturday. Everyone seemed to have a great time there and found some great things to buy. The Chamber of Trade and The Best of Monmouth wold lke to thank you for supporting the 'Buy Local Buy Monmouth' campaign by making your recommendations for your favourite local business!
Just as a bit of fun, we've totted up the recommendations that were filled in to see who won as the 'Most recommended Business' for the day, so here are the statistics:
• There were 34 completed cards in total, including from our Mayor, our local MP and several county councillors, including the Deputy Chair of MCC
• 21 different businesses in total received recommendations from local people
• The winner with the highest number of votes received (12) was Fabulous Fish - well done Sarah!
• Duncan from Le Gourmet Butchers received 4 recommendations
• Phil from Munday & Jones received 2 recommendations
• Each of the other businesses received 1 recommendation each, including one for us at The Best of Monmouth!
So what does that tell us? "Excellent quality", "a great product", "well presented with great service and a smile". All quotes from the recommendation cards received for Sarah from Fabulous Fish. Is there a challenge there for other businesses in Monmouth to receive the same type of comments from their customers?
We wonder who the winner will be next week?
