PUBLIC MEETING TO DISCUSS
THE PROVISION OF CCTV IN MONMOUTH

WEDNESDAY 21ST MARCH 2012 AT 6PM MONMOUTH SHIRE HALL

CCTV Cameras were switched off in Monmouth in February 2008. Monmouth Town Council decided, on your behalf, that the cost of £12,000 a year was not justified because the ultimate beneficiaries (The Police and town businesses) did not contribute. A petition with more than 1,000 signatures was presented to the Town Council, urging them to reconsider. They did. After much prevarication, they decided not to fund CCTV.

The Chamber of Commerce has been examining different methods (liaising with private companies and Monmouthshire County Council) by which CCTV could be provided in the town. If you feel that your town deserves CCTV, please come and listen to the options at this public meeting.

If you attend only one public meeting this year, make sure it is this one. Do not imagine that somebody else will turn up and sort it out for you. Regardless of the weather, how busy you are or what is on the TV - come and support this meeting if you want the town that you live and work in to be a safer place.

Please also look out for the Monmouthshire County Council online survey.
