Monmouth Open Doors weekend for our interesting Historical Buildings
7th September 2011

Have you ever walked around the town, and noticed one of the older buildings there that you haven’t really noticed before? Perhaps it’s the fact that it’s just been cleaned up and now looks great or perhaps it’s because the sun just happens to be shining on it today in a particular way. Well this weekend, you can have an opportunity to have a look inside that one or indeed one of the other 17 historical buildings that are being opened up this weekend to visitors as part of a European Heritage Days event weekend.
There will be stewards available at each of the locations to help you understand the background to the buildings so why not get into Monmouth on Saturday or Sunday from 2pm to 5pm unless other wise indicated.
So whether you want to take a sneaky peak into the Masonic Lodge, get a bird’s eye view from Monnow Bridge or just wander around the Nelson Garden, the secret walled garden off of Chippenham Mead, get into Monmouth this weekend and take advantage of this great opportunity to see some of our lovely heritage in case you never get the chance again!
