Halloween Party

Whilst Halloween falls on a Monday this year you can still use it as the perfect excuse to throw a thrilling party for friends and family over the weekend to "get you in the mood"! Here are a few spooky suggestions to help you make your party a screaming success!

For Halloween fancy dress and decorations try Monmouth’s Fancy Freds. Here you will find a fantastic selection of costumes to suit all – from Goth witches to Frankenstein to vampire lords. The shop also has a great selection of party supplies so you can stock up on all your extras such as cauldrons, broomsticks, plastic spiders and devils horns.

If you are thinking of making a Halloween themed cake make sure you get plenty of orange and black food colouring together with edible glitter to make some spooktacular cakes! You could also spread the Halloween joy and make cute cupcakes, decorated in a Halloween theme as an alternative to sweets for Trick or Treaters.

Take the hassle out of Halloween entertaining and get some help from Jane White Catering in Monmouth or Apricot Catering near Ross-on-Wye where you will find oodles of passionate people serving up very scrummy food for all to enjoy.

Halloween would not be complete without the Jack O’ Lantern so drop by the Usk Farmers’s Market  or the rather fabulous Munday & Jones to get your pumpkin and start carving!

Halloween Punch Recipe:  Try this recipe for a terrifyingly tasty Halloween Punch at your party

Vampire’s bloody brew recipe

1 litre cranberry juice
1 litre lemonade
Frozen strawberries
Grenadine or Strawberry flavoured syrup

Place strawberries in punch bowl (or try a black witch’s cauldron for a more creepy effect!). Add cranberry juice. Stir. Pour in the lemonade. Pour in grenadine/ strawberry syrup. Do not stir to give a blood like effect.

Staying in - it's the new going out!

If you decide that hosting a party isn’t your thing, then why not kick back and hide under the covers with a takeaway from Misbah Tandoori
