All I want for Christmas is...

Unless the world does end on the 21st I am really looking forward to Christmas Day. Part of my tradition is hand delivering Christmas cards at night which gives me a chance to admire my neighbours’ light displays. My favourite this year has to be the reindeer and Santa on top of a garage. I am assuming they will be elsewhere on Christmas Eve.

If you haven’t yet bought your tickets for Cinderella, Monmouth’s Christmas pantomime, don’t delay, after the amount of disasters that have so far hit the cast, it’ll be alright on the night takes on even greater significance.

I hope that Christmas is a clear sunny day; snow can be an added extra as long as it is crunchy. I would like a day when all my family enjoy each other’s company and smile a lot. The dog will wait as the children unwrap their presents and then do her usual and wrap herself up in the paper. The Snowman returns to the small screen this time with his dog and I can guarantee that I will cry.  Dr Who will have another unbelievable adventure and some of us will nod off on the sofa. Whether or not you are a Christian peace and goodwill to all is a sentiment I think we can all share in.

Christmas is one of those times of really mixed emotions.  My philosophy is do whatever makes you happy and don’t feel pressured to do anything. After all, if you are happy chances are that those around you will pick up on that and may feel more inclined to help in the kitchen or at least with the washing up! Have the best of days. Happy Christmas!
