A Big Wish For Chase
16th January 2013

Football in drag, fireman climbing the equivalent of Everest, heads being shaved, sponsored walks, quizzes, cycle rides, fetes, cakes and jumble sales. What do they all have in common? They are all raising money to give Chase, who has cerebral palsy, the operation that will allow her to do the things we all take for granted such as running in the park and riding a bike.

Community means coming together to help each other and it is really heartening to see that our community has helped Chase and her mum Helen reach the half way mark of £20,000. It’s a win win situation, we feel good for helping and Chase is getting nearer to the operation which will give her a better life.

This weekend could be the first time that you can spend 24 hours in the pub and not be in trouble when you get home.  A 24 hour darts and pool marathon at the Mayhill begins at midnight on Friday 18th January and runs through till Saturday night. Raising money for Chase and having fun at the same time sounds like a brilliant idea.  There will also be a raffle so if you have any prizes you can donate please pop them into The Mayhill.

If you are thinking of getting married or just like all the razzamataz that goes with a wedding then make a date at Bridges this Saturday. Keep your fingers crossed that the snow stays away for the wedding fayre and catwalk show. It starts at 12 and ends at 4. Tickets are £5 and all the proceeds go to A Big Wish for Chase fund.

Local businesses can help by having a collection tin on their premises and Helen, Chase’s Mum would love to hear from anyone with fundraising ideas. Visit  www.abigwishforchase.com to get in touch or to make a donation.

Have a great weekend.
