What were you doing on the day of the Royal Wedding?

A moment in history just like 9/11, so what were you doing for the Royal Wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton, now the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

The date was Friday 29th April 2011, and the nation had been given an extra bank holiday to mark the occasion.  All eyes were on London and Westminster Abbey, which dress would Kate be wearing, who would be the designer to go down in history, would she be on time??  Speculations were all over the news and the public were eager to find the answers.

WOW and we were not disappointed, she looked stunning in a Sarah Burton, creative director at Alexander McQueen, lace dress and the Queen’s Cartier tiara.  The tiara has not been seen in public for more than 30 years and has also been worn by Princess Margaret and Princess Anne.

Life stopped for a few hours as the nation focused on TV’s, whether in their home, local pubs or even in streets for garden parties.  It was then time to wait for the couple’s first kiss and for them to appear on the balcony at Buckingham Palace.

Then just as we thought the celebration was over, Prince William borrowed an Aston Martin from his dad, Prince Charles, and drove them from Buckingham Palace to Clarence House.  Onlookers were amazed as they took a slow drive in the classic car accompanied by a Search and Rescue Helicopter, from Prince William’s base in Anglesey.

What did you do to celebrate?
