The Society is in the final five for the Best Regional Building Society title from the leading consumer magazine What Mortgage’s 20th annual awards. It is up against the Cambridge, Ipswich, Nottingham and Saffron building societies. The winner is announced on July 10.

Hinckley & Rugby is also in the running for an award for its offset mortgages, with the winner of Moneyfacts’ award to be revealed on June 7. In this award Hinckley & Rugby is up against some of the biggest names in banking, including Nat West/RBS and First Direct.

Chris White, chief executive of Hinckley & Rugby Building Society, said: “It is good to be punching above our weight in these very well regarded national awards, because it shows we provide great mortgages and savings accounts whilst still delivering outstanding service.”
