New Christmas Lights for Lutterworth

Lutterworth Town Council tells us it listened to what people had to say and therefore has renewed the Christmas Lights for this year, following a tender process, to provide a whole new focus to the Town with all the Christmas colours you would ever want to see.

To make them even more appealing they are highly efficient low consumption lights which ensure electricity consumption is reduced by more than 80%.

The highlight of the Big Switch-On evening will be television star from the BBC’s The Voice, Kate Read, performing live on stage just before the Switch-On followed by a "truly excellent" fireworks display.

It all happens on Friday 30 November 2012, with on stage entertainment starting at 6:00pm, the Christmas Lights Switch-On at 7:30pm, with a firework finale to end the event by 8:00pm.

BBC Radio Leicester will be on stage throughout the evening to guide us through the schedule and keep the party moving along.

The main A426 Leicester Road will be closed to through traffic from 5:00pm to 9:00pm, with a diversion in operation around the Town. Residents only access will be in place, however there will be no vehicular movement in the Town Centre except for emergency access.

It is definitely an evening not to miss.
