Restaurants, Cafes, food entrepreneurs, brilliant bakers and champion cheese-makers - are all about to tuck into one of Leicester and Leicestershire's most important culinary events.

Gastronomic delights have been lined up right across the county to highlight just how good Leicestershire produce really is. Leicester and Leicestershire Food Fortnight which runs from 21 September to 6 October and is organised by Leicestershire County Council and Leicester City Council - is giving producers a major forum to showcase their wares.

Events stretch right across the county from Melton Mowbray to Market Harborough, Blaby, the City and North West Leicestershire, Loughborough to Hinckley. This year over 65 businesses are taking part in Food Fortnight which is designed to raise the profile of food and drink in the County and encourage people to support local business.

From Donisthorpe Apple Day to Pie and Ale evening at Hothorpe Hall, cookery demonstrations, bread-making, pasta-making, food fairs and tastings – this year's Food Fortnight has something for everyone. Tuck in!
