After successive defeats Lutterworth Athletic returned to winning ways with a convincing 4 – 0 defeat of Saffron Dynamo. With a new look attack, defender Tony Brown led the front three and completed an accomplished performance with a hat trick. Athletic’s other goal came from Dominic Ivens who caused problems all afternoon. Athletic have five league games left to keep the pressure on if they are to top the league. They are also in the semi finals of both the County and League Cups.

Earlier in the week Athletic’s under 18s produced a fine performance to see off Aylestone Park in the County Cup final with a convincing 7 – 3 result.

Lutterworth Athletic Ladies travelled to Loughborough Foxes to play their quarter final of the League Cup.

Lutterworth still unbeaten started strong and scored on 15 minutes a Helen Busby header. The next wasn't far behind, a 20 yard volley from Neely Simons, the game slowed slightly, but just before the half Busby made it 3.

Lutterworth started off strong  again, but couldn't find the back of the net. Loughborough played well and had chances, but Esha Ramesh finished off a fine solo effort, to make it 4. Helen Busby then poked in Lutterworth’s 5th, and Ramesh got the 6th and final goal in the 85th minute.

Lutterworth are now in their 3rd semi final of the season, and play Leicester city women on the 18/3/12 in the County Cup semi-final.

Athletic Reserves have also won through to the County Cup final where they will play Rothley Imperial.
