Zumba Craze Takes Hold of Lowestoft

After hearing so much about this Zumba 'thing' that seems to be attracting the population of Lowestoft in their hoards to community centres, sports venues and village halls... the suspense was just too much for me.. what was this madness?... I had to find out.

So, donned in what I thought was the appropriate gear and armed with just a bottle of water, I took the plunge!

What I experienced next I really wasn't prepared for.. a gathering of at least 50 ladies of varying ages, shapes and sizes (there was just one brave fella), all bubbling in excited anticipaton of what lie ahead..

The zesty latin music began and our Zumba instructor, with a contagious smile and enthusiasm, started to take us through our paces.

This was so much FUN! The exotic music transported me to a sun-drenched tropical island (well almost) and the fact that I was doing something to keep myself in shape at the same time seemed too good to be true! Catchy and easy to follow salsa style moves were suitable for older and young participants alike. This was totally uplifting, extremely effective and I didn't stop laughing the whole way through!

One hour later I emerged...hair and clothes drenched with perspiration (not a great look!) but feeling completely exhilarated. Will I be going again?.. Absolutely!

So if you're longing to get into shape for summer look no further and get along to one of the many Zumba classes here in Lowestoft. To make it even easier for you, we've listed them all on our events section at TheBestOfLowestoft.

Well........ what are you waiting for?
