I was so chuffed to see Lowestoft's Leanne Mitchell going forward in the popular TV show, 'The Voice' last weekend. Not only because she's a local girl but I know both her mum and auntie and it was great to see the whole family celebrating with Leanne after successfully being choosen by Sir Tom to go through to the next stage of the show.
28 year old Leanne is currently works with the entertainment team at Potters Leisure Resort near Lowestoft which she loves, but she wants to follow in the footsteps of her inspirations Beyoncé and Christina Aguilera and take her music from the seaside to the big time.
In her Blind Audition, she belted out Beyoncé’s ‘If I Were A Boy’. Her voice was powerful enough to turn both Danny and Tom Jones around and after some deliberation, she took her place on Sir Tom’s team.
Leanne remarked " I could sing in front of a huge crowd of people, but if I had to speak I'd clam up!".....
thebestof Lowestoft will be following Leanne's progress with our fingers (and everything else!) firmly crossed for her continued success in the hope that she deservedly becomes The Voice UK.
