Hundreds of adoring fans turned out today to show their appreciation and admiration for Olympic Bronze Medalist,Anthony Ogogo. The Lowestoft champ, arrived at London Road North today for his offical welcome home celebration.

The atmosphere was electric as Ogogo stepped onto the podium and the crowd let out a roar when he held his gleaming Bronze Medal high for all to see.

In a heartfelt speech to the people of Lowestoft and East Anglia, Anthony praised the town for their loyal support throughout the Olympic Games and told the crowd that this alone had spurred him on during the toughest moments during his fights. He went on to say that after being away from his home town for several weeks had made him feel quite homesick and that he'd never been so pleased to return to Lowestoft. He went on to say:

'I've travelled the world far and wide and visited some great countries but I still think Lowestoft is the best!'

Ogogo was presented with the Crest of Lowestoft by The Mayor, Nick Webb, who paid tribute to to the young Olympian particularly for the inspiration he has give to others.

'So what's next for you' questioned the Beach radio presenter? Anthony replied that he was still not sure whether to turn professional or to return to the next Olympic Games and upgrade his Bronze Medal to a Gold one!!!... Cue another massive roar from the crowd!

Well which ever path he chooses next, one thing's for certain, this outstanding young man will always have the people of Lowestoft behind him. In fact I think we should give him a profile on our website........
