Lowestoft's Kirkley Business Association is all set to celebrate the Queens Diamond Jubilee in true British style.

At their meeting last night, to which I'd been invited as a guest, the members of the Kirkley Business Association discussed how they would turn vast swathes of Kirkley into a truly patriotic celebration of the Queens Jubilee.

There'll be metre upon metre of Union Flag bunting running through Kirkley. Large Union Flags will be attached to nearly thirty buildings and there'll be absolutely loads of red, white and blue flowers displayed making this a stunning entrance into Kirkley - the hidden gem of Lowestoft.

Andrew McMeekin, of Robert Owen Haircutters, rallied the members to get everyone onboard with this fabulous and eye-catching celebration. He also said some nice words about thebestof Lowestoft and what we've set out to achieve for Lowestoft businesses - thanks for that Andrew...

And our hosts for the evening were Jackie, Hayley and Stephanie at Cafe Grand in London Road South. The Cafe Grand is a great venue for events like this and the ladies played perfect hosts especially with their delicious chilli and rice!

So the message from the Kirkley Business Association is simple... Come to Kirkley and celebrate the Queens Jubilee by shopping in this thriving part of Lowestoft.
