The people of Lowestoft will be hitting the roadsides in support of the 43rd Lowestoft Town Carnival on Sunday 23rd September.

We here at thebestof Lowestoft will also be included in the parade.  The optional theme this year is HM The Queen's Diamond Jubilee and the olympics, so expect to see plenty of Union Jacks!

The entrants will assemble at 12.30pm in Kirkley Park Road, then at 1pm the judging will start. The independent juges from the Lowestoft Lions Club will spend 45 minutes deliberating and looking for the following qualities from the entrants;

  • Originality
  • Imagination
  • Effort
  • Creativity
  • Entertainment Value

The procession shield will be presented to the most outstanding, entertaining and original entry and the best maintained lorry will receive the John Stoddard Memorial trophy.

At 2pm the procession will start making it's way down London Road South, it will go over Bascule bridge, past the train station and then turn right along Katwijk Way, finishing at the roundabout on Katwijk Way.

Whatever the weather let's see you lining the streets in support.  Look out for us giving away our thebestof Lowestoft flags and give us a wave.
