On 5th July 2012 the Olympic Torch Relay will pass through Lowestoft.
This is your opportunity to see the Olympic Torch up close and personal, never again will you see such a historic occasion in your home town, Lowestoft.
Proceedings commence one hour before the Olympic Torch arrives in Lowestoft, sponsor vehicles will be handing out free gifts to those waiting to support the event.
At 10.02 a.m. (approximately) the route will start from Yarmouth Road at the Junction with Weston Road, continuing along Yarmouth Road to the High Street, turning down Rants Score, heading along Whapload Road to Gas Works Road where the torch will stop briefly at Lowestoft Ness.
The Olympic Torch will then head past the Orbis Energy building to Hamilton Road, heading up Artillery Way before turning into London Road North and proceeding down through the town centre. It will then pass Station Square, go over the Bascule Bridge and then turn into Belvedere Road before returning to 'convoy mode' at Tom Crisp Way at approximately 10.53 a.m.
It is also worth noting that the A12 through Lowestoft town will be closed between 9.30am - 11.30 am.
