Hidden Gems of Lowestoft

I reckon we're all guilty of sticking to shops in the main town centre, me included! But during our recent 'Buy Local' campaign I wandered into some of the quieter shopping areas of Lowestoft and discovered some fantastic little gems that I didn't even realise existed....

We all know of the High Street as being home to well established businesses such as Sgt Peppers, Tinkerbelles and Admiral 'T's, but who would have thought I'd stumble upon a wonderful smoothie bar, 'Krush'.... I sampled one of their delicious fruit shakes which was just one of a huge variety on offer. Definitely worth a visit!! 'Picca-lily's' tea rooms was another great find - friendly staff, light and airy decor with views out to sea, perfect for a get together with friends. Finally, I popped into 'A Piece of Cake'... already well known for mouth watering homemade savouries and cakes, to find that they now have a lovely new cafe next door.

I guess the moral of this story is....that by straying a little off the beaten track there are dozens of relatively unknown businesses and services that you could be missing out on. So next time you find yourself in the High Street area take a stroll around and see if you can uncover your very own hidden gem in Lowestoft!
