Easter Holiday Activities in Lowestoft

Now that the Easter holidays are in full swing, you might be running out of ideas of things to do with the family.

Well we have a few ideas for you, and what's more you don't need to spend hours of stressful travelling or paying out a fortune on fuel, because they're all on your doorstep, right here in Lowestoft.

The weather has been great (for a change!) so why not take advantage and spend some time at one of our beautiful parks... Everitts Park with it's stunning broadland setting is ideal for a fun picnic, a play on the rides and a bounce on the trampolines. Don't forget to stop off at Pets Corner before you leave. Or, if you have a skateboard or BMX fanatic in the family go along to Normanston Park. They also do a lovely cup of tea and cake in the cafe to give you a little time out whilst the kids are kept amused!

Pleasurewood Hills theme park is always a firm favourite, whether you enjoy a gentle glide round on the carousel or a daring white knuckle ride, and as always, there's a great choice of fantastic shows to entertain all.

My personal favourite is Lowestoft's very own Africa Alive. I would recommend planning your day around the animal feeding times, not forgetting the live show, and when your feet are starting to ache, hop on the train and enjoy a leisurely tour of the estate viewing the wildlife. Superb!

I think we're all guilty of not making the most of local visitor attractions... one of which is the stunning Somerleyton Hall. If you haven't stopped by before there's no better time to do it. On Sunday 24th April they are holding an Easter egg hunt in the maze with hundreds of chocolate eggs up for grabs.

This is a little hidden gem.. Carlton Marshes visitor centre. I first came here about 2 years ago on my daughter's school trip and wished I hadn't waited so long. It's absolutely fasinating and children are learning at the same time! Check out their website to find out about all the special activity days they're holding during the Easter Holidays.

If the weather does take a turn for the worse, we have plenty of indoor activity options here in Lowestoft. Adventure Island indoor play park is ideal for all ages, from very small babies to mums and dad's who look as if they're having more fun on the giant slide than the kids! You can also get a good quality meal or snack to save mum from cooking. Lowestoft Family Bowl is another good choice for all the family and it's guaranteed to bring out the competitive streak in you. Personally, I'm more at home on the rollerskates... Rollers on Claremont Pier is the perfect choice, complete with a smoke machine, disco music and lights. You'll be ready for an ice cream or a bag of chips when you come out!

If you've already exhausted this list of suggestions you could always just take a leisurely stroll along the prom or beach and take some time to appreciate how extremely lucky we are to have such a fantastic facility here in Lowestoft.
