We've all got our fingers crossed for some sunshine at this years Lowestoft Seafront Air Festival. But, regardless of the weather we know the event promises to be as stunning as ever.

TheBestOf Lowestoft have put together some information about car parking and transport to help your day at this fantastic local event run smoothly and enjoyably...

As always parking will be very restricted for such a large event as tis with many roads around the seafront area being closed for the emergency services only.

There will be limited car parking available at Pakefield Cliffs car park at £8.00 per day, but be prepared for some traffic congestion around the area.

These will be very well signposted from all directions, and are situated to the north and south of the town, both just off the A12: They are operated by our charitable partners on our behalf, and all receipts go to the Air Festival:

  • Coming from Norwich/Great Yarmouth direction on the A12, the north site is at Dip Farm, Corton
  • Coming from Ipswich/Colchester direction A12, and Bury St Edmunds/ Beccles direction A146, the south site is at Africa Alive, Kessingland.
  • Park & Ride Shuttle Buses from Dip Farm will drop you off and pick you up at East Point Pavilion, just a short walk to the show
  • Shuttle Buses from Africa Alive will drop you off / and pick you up in Rectory Road which is right in the middle of all the action!
  • Shuttle buses will run approximately every 10 minutes. Cost will be 12.00 per car, which includes a free bus ride for driver and all passengers!

Kirkley - South Lowestoft: Kirkly and Pakefield Football Club have agreed to become our official 2011 Park and Walk site. With spaces for almost 1,000 cars, and with only a five minute slow walk to the seafront, is is ideally placed and very convenient! The site is situated at Walmer Road Recreation ground, and will be signposted from the A14 and the A12 (south) You can set your sat-nav to NR33 7LE Park and Walk Charges are 8.00 per car.

ASDA Store, Riverside - Central Lowestoft. Not only a very convenient place to shop, but also to park! A five-minute walk takes you to the heart of the action! 10.00 per car, with all profits going towards the Air Festival.

All profits from these official Airshow Festival car parks will go towards the funding for next year's Air Festival.

Displays start at 12.45pm on both days. However, you are encouraged to arrive early as large crowds are expected.

Besides the main event, there will be lots of other family attractions in place such as, live entertainment and music, fun fairs, stalls and refreshments, not to mention miles of beautiful sandy beaches for you to enjoy!

Please note that this event is purely 'not for profit' which means that the future of Lowestoft Air Festival depends on sponsorship and donations by visitors to the show. It is suggested that a minimum donation of £3 per person should be given. Not much for a spectacular day out!

Have a great time... I will be there somewhere with my TheBestOf Lowestoft T shirt on so keep a look out for me!!
