The 9/11 Memorial will be dedicated on September 11, 2011 the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks in a ceremony for victims’ families. It will open to the public on September 12, 2011, and will welcome visitors who have reserved advance passes.
Honoring the lives of those who were lost is at the heart of our mission. Occupying eight of the 16 acres at the World Trade Center, the Memorial will be a tribute to the past and a place of hope for the future.
The names of every person who died in the terrorist attacks of February 26, 1993 and September 11, 2001 are inscribed in bronze around the twin memorial pools.
When the 9/11 Memorial opens this September, it will be surrounded by ongoing construction on other World Trade Center projects. In order to accommodate visitors during this period, we have instituted a timed reservation system. The easiest and quickest way to make a reservation is online.
