Dance Classes at artsNK offer a fantastic opportunity for children and young people to embrace their performance skills and to gain new confidence. Oh - and you also keep pretty fit at the same time, release all that stored up energy and become a really good dancer!

Here at artsNK, we run a number of different classes for all ages and abilities.

Ranging from Contemporary through to Break Dance, there is something for everyone to get involved in. For younger children, we have our Whirlwind and Balance Children’s Creative Dance, aimed at children beginning to explore movement and expression.

For older children, we hold our Contemporary classes, Freefall and Descend with the aim being to develop participants dance technique and to further their skills in creativity and choreography. We also hold Dance Leadership which is a nationally recognised qualification allowing successful candidates to lead simple dance activities.

For those looking to progress in dance, we have our Youth Dance Company kNacKer’d (see picture), who work on advanced Contemporary technique. They also get the chance to perform around the county!

If Contemporary is not your thing, then we also have Street  and Break Dance! redXco is our Street Dance Company working on a number of Street Dance techniques. They, like kNacKer’d, also get the chance to perform around the county.

If Breakin’ is more your thing, then we have our Carre’s Breakers group working on techniques of Bboying and Break Dance. We also have our newest dance company, JumpStart. Jumpstart is our all male Break Dance Company. The group focuses on developing advanced technique skills within Bboying, alongside learning detailed performance skills.

Finally new for 2013, we have our Vertical Dance class! A one of a kind class, dancers create exciting pieces whilst suspended in the air!

All of our classes are held throughout the week at the NK Centre, North Hykeham (apart from Carre’s Breakers, held in Sleaford). To find out more, pick up one of our leaflets available at the NK Centre, orsearch artsNK Dance Team on Facebook!
