We stayed a couple of nights in Lichfield and decided to visit the cathedral. It is the only 3 spired cathedral in the UK and dates back to 700AD. It has a fascinating history and a gothic facade with interesting statues around and above its entrance. There is lots to see and absorb inside and I found it interesting that St Michaels Chapel inside was dedicated in 1926 as the Chapel of the Staffordshire Regiment because when I was researching my family history I discovered my grandfather had been in the Staffordshire Regiment (we visited the museum for the regiment later the same day).
It was a very hot day during an exceptional heatwave outside but it was cool inside the cathedral as well as peaceful.

I cannot thank the girls at Walsh’s enough. From the first time we walked through their door to discuss funeral arrangements for my mom, until I went to collect her ashes, they did nothing but show care, love and understanding of the sad situation we were going through. They deal with so many grieving families but make you feel as though you are the only ones. They dealt with absolutely everything for us and it was all perfect. Couldn’t have wished for a more lovely service for my mom. Would not hesitate to recommend Walsh’s for looking after your loved ones.

Jon was an absolute star. It was an emergency situation. We had an oil leak on the blocked pavers on our drive and he was great with advice and did a great job getting the oil out. We are that pleased that we have booked for him to come back to do the rest. Thank you! Especially when it was out of hours and at very short notice 🌟

A beautiful cathedral that is well worth visiting. The architecture is stunning, and the atmosphere inside is peaceful and welcoming. Entry is free, although voluntary donations are appreciated and help with the upkeep of the cathedral. There is convenient parking nearby, making it easy to reach by car or your own means of transportation. Overall, a wonderful place to visit if you are in the area.

A lovely really friendly Theatre in the heart of Lichfield City. There is a lift of those less able to climb stairs. And wheelchair access also.
