A very full day at the Arboretum. Starting with a short, moving service for armed forces day and finishing seven and a half hours later when we had to leave as it was closing and still hadn't managed to see everything. So many memorials dedicated to so many diverse causes, with each one so very different from the last. Enjoyed the whole day.

I visited with my husband who is ex raf and have a few moans first one it says free admission yet you feel bullied into making a payment with the way it is laid out and you can't just give a donation as they say it's five pounds each secondly there is lack of toilets the Porter cabin ones were locked so we had to walk back to the entrance and thirdly I expected to see an help the hero's outlet where you could buy items from but no I will be visiting again in the hope that things are different yours Mrs hogan

We visited here on national armed forces day,it was our first time.the new reception area leading out into the courtyard was very modern with a large resaurant attatched to it.wr walked the length and breadth of the park with many things of interest.the most poignant being the shot at dawn area, remembering those who some were shot for misdemeanors or and i choose this word carefully desertion,we might term it shell shock and or battle fatigue.the large cenotaph rembering those in all the armed forces giving up there lives was especially sad,the reminders still there with blank bits of the cenotaph reminding us of the troubled times we still live in.i will go back.

This is well worth a visit. So tranquil and yet thought provoking at the same time. The staff are very pleasant and helpful. Advise taking the train jouney first - this gives a commentry on the memorials as you drive by. Definitely worth more visits.

Visited the NMA with my parents and found the experience to be very thought provoking. The volunteer staff being very knowledgeable and helpful. Taking a land train tour gave a over view of the site and subsequent walk made the experience very informative. The memorials we set out in a very repectable way and made you think of the loss that happens in war and in civil society.

I've wanted to visit since the memorial first opened and will be here again whenever in this area. A place of great beauty and serenity, with excellent visitor facilities, and an entirely fitting memorial to those who have given their lives in military service for their fellow-countrymen. What is most moving is the thousands of individual and group tributes from the comrades, families and units of the fallen, with every tree specific to a person or unit or occasion, along with the great central wall of names.

What a lovely place this is opened in 2001 contains 300 memorials for military civilian organisations associations and tributes for individuals, its a vast place 150 acres of formal Delete repeated wordwildflower meadows and maturing woodland, I'm sure it would take more than a day to cover all areas, it is divided in to nine zones, there is an armed forces memorial/Basra memorial wall/Polish armed forces/shot at dawn/parachute regiment and airborne forces memorial/Bastion memorial wall/Christmas truce memorial/national service/far east prisoners of war/Burma railway memorial.2 childrens play areas. the trees are also beautiful 30.000 all of the british native species as well as a number of specimen and foreign varieties which have been symbolically chosen to represent the stories they tell. There is a land train takes 50 mins tour with audio commentary, lovely restaurant and café. make sure you are there for 11 am silence. this is a lovely place to visit on foot or by land train or electric buggy or golf cart buggy lots of different ways to explore

My father took us here to see a memorial that had his name on. A very beautiful place. Quiet, calm, a chance to think and reflect. My 2 daughters, aged 7 and 9 really enjoyed walking around and looking at all of the memorials, not all dedicated to war.
Beautifully kept, wonderful restaurant serving a variety of food. Will go back again as we didn't get to see everything.

We live pretty local to the NMA and are frequent visitors. There is always something different to provoke a thought and discussion. We went this weekend specifically to see the Poppy Meadow and what a "wow" factor this proved to be. Get their soon before the blooms fade.

Very knowledgeable and helpful staff make every visit worthwhile

If this is an interest to you, just go you won't be disappointed with anything. Not before time something like this was established for our hero's past and present.

Chose to go to the National Memorial Arboretum as a last minute choice and were so glad we went. It is such a beautiful peaceful place, a stunning location. We enjoyed walking around and looking at the many memorials, there was a land train which took you on a tour of the arboretum, a good choice for people who aren't so mobile. I found it made me proud that we have a memorial in this country that pays tribute to people of all nations who have paid the ultimate price for us. The large memorial at the centre of the park pays tribute to members of the forces who have died in service since the Second World War, it is a stunning structure, however the blank wall is as powerful as all the names listed. Well worth a visit.

I was staying close by on a journey and when I saw how close I was to the Arboretum decided to pop in. I only had a couple of hours and that wasn't long enough!

As I was short of time, I did the train which goes around the site, takes around 45 mins, so that I could get a feel for the place. I then walked back to certain areas but the two hours went far too quickly.

Lots of different memorial gardens for different parts of the military and each had it's own character. Very moving was the 'Shot at Dawn' memorial. The large general memorial in the middle is also stunning.

As the trees grow this place will change and develop, so I will definitely be back and this time with a full day to explore it at leisure.

So overwhelming to see all of the names and memorials showing all of the people who have lost their lives to protect their country. It really makes you want you show how much you support them. All of the memorials were beautiful. The scenery was amazing, even better with us going here on the hottest day of the year. Paul who did the talk in the chapel today too was brilliant!

My partner, grandparents and I attended the Aboretum in May 2017. We spent several hours strolling around the whole site, only seeing a fraction of the 300 odd amazing memorials! It is a beautiful place to spend a weekend. There is an indoor cafeteria on-site, so good for a midday tea break whilst you plan your next memorial track on the map. A pleasant day.

Was passing nearby and decided to visit having seen it on tv. What a tribute to the memory of both fallen soldiers etc but also those not involved in the military. The site is massive which will in time lend itself to grand vistas surrounding these memorials

You cannot fail to feel the emotions engendered by this place. As soon as we walked in, and although it was very busy, it was strangely peaceful. We only had a short time here today so we are planning a full days visit very soon. The whole site seems very accessible with both a land train and golf buggy tours to all parts of the site.

This was our third visit - the number of memorials grows rapidly. They are wonderfully laid out, and everything is well cared for. The volunteer staff are brilliant and can't help enough. The restaurant has been improved beyond recognition and the fare offered is excellent, plentiful and at a very fair price. Entry to the Arboretum is free and car parking is cheap. As is said about Las Vegas - the NMA is a place that everyone should visit at least once in their lifetime!!!

I regularly visit the MNA to pay tribute to relatives. Its a humbling experience but a place of tranquillity.
The cafe is quite pricey unfortunately. The volunteers must give up hours of their time. Thanks. You are doing an amazing job.

Day coach trip proved to be well worth it. Wanted to go for ages and was delighted at what I saw. The 11am memorial service was so well attended that people were standing outside the chapel - a bit uneasy about the 'taped' commentary and words, but it did the job. A more personal commentary would have been better and more friendly. The grounds were terribly well kept, staff were ultra knowledgeable, toilets were cleaned seemingly constantly and the paved areas were well swept and ultra clean. Great, informative land-train ride lasting 50 minutes, gave a perspective of all the grounds and a pointer for exploring and finding certain areas to walk to, afterwards. Cafe lunch prices were less dear than expected, a pleasant surprise. Spent an easy full day there, lots of walking, but mostly flat, so pretty easy to do that.

We'd heard about the arboretum with living not too far away and decided to visit one Sunday. £3 to park the car all day but free entry or small donation. We were amazed whilst walking around how big it is and the different memorials there are. Lots of benches around for a quiet sit, or a moment of reflection. We didn't see everything unfortunately but we'll go back one day. It's an excellent place to visit and remember those who gave who much.
