The location is easy to find and well laid out with good paths and signposting around the site. Some stunning memorials. The Far Eastern PoW pavillion is excellent and well worth a visit. The volunteer guides are highly informative and are a great source of information (see below).

On the down side there is little in the way of descriptions on the memorial sites unless you buy the guidebook. For example the stunning glass memorial for the navy does describe how in sunlight there is the outline of a ship in the shadows (thanks to the guide for that). The site map was out of date and at £3 was expensive - £1 uptodate photocopy would be better. Spacious cafe but beef bourguignon with 4 small pieces of beef was, again, expensive at nearly £9 and more like soup.

It was a very emotional experience but lovely at the same time.
These very brave & Special people should never be forgotten.
In the first World War my father ran away from home to join up at the age of 14 when they realised his age they discharged him so he went to another who accepted him. Thankfully he served his time in service & came home he was a lovely father.

I wish we could have spent more time here, we visited enroute to our weekend break. I was surprised how overwhelmed I felt by this gorgous memorial and landscaped setting. The volunteers/staff were genuinely welcoming and informative. This beautiful Arboretum is a truly fitting tribute to our brave servicemen and women who lost their lives in the line of duty. I would encourage you to donate both your time to remember and a voluntary financial contribution for the upkeep.

Have wanted to visit for a long time, finally got there and was taken aback at the space and the arras y of monuments. Tranquility reigned, even with children around. It was interesting learning about the different organisations that have allowed us British people to live in peace and relative safety.
Found the name of a family friend who died in the Falk lands. Quite unexpected. Extremely poinent. Loved learning more about the railways - Burma and Singapore, as both my grandads had been interned there.
The grounds are extensive and beautifully maintrained. We spent 5 hours there and will need to revisit as we did not see all the memorials.
Would definitely recommend. Whether you are interested in the wars/particular armed force.

Everyone should visit and read every name of the outstandingly brave men and women who gave their lives for this country. A truly wonderful memorial. I will be going again.

Amazing experience for all the family. Sobering thoughts and reflections for older folk and lots of interesting thing for the little ones to do. The "Stickman Trail" had all ages engaged (if only in trying to follow the map). Well worth a repeat visit, as things change regularly.

Been 3-4 times now over a 15yr period to watch the land scape grow and develop. Its such a lovely and peaceful place, to both remember and pay your respects to the fallen and lost.

Four friends, all ex-military, visited the arboretum and spent a wonderful six hours wandering around the memorials and beautifully kept gardens and woodland. There were a lot of people visiting on this particular day, but the place is so huge that you can be a long distance from others, and also still feel a quiet solitude. The memorials are spectacular, and it brings a tinge of sadness when you read some of the names and information on them, that so many young people have lost their lives defending the freedoms that this country of ours holds so dear. It was even more poignant by what is happening in Afghanistan at this particular moment in history. We booked an afternoon tea in the restaurant on arrival for four o’clock, and this rounded of an excellent day of remembrance for all four of us.
