Dear Paul I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for arranging both mine and my recently belated partner’s ‘Lasting Power of Attorney’s’. Although we did these 3 years ago with you, we never really thought we would need them - but how wrong we were!!. Apart from a Will, I believe these to be the most important legal documents anyone can have while alive and it proved its point for our unfortunate circumstances that followed. Without having both the ‘finance’ and the ‘health’ power of attorneys in place my life would have been made exceedingly difficult due to my partner’s diagnosis of Dementia with Lewy Bodies which meant he could not make any decisions for himself legally. Through the use of the ‘Power of Attorney’ I was able to manage our finances and it also allowed me to make the decision to allow my partner to come back home for his final months, rather than the NHS dictating his care and putting him in a care home – this meant so much for both of us and never realised what decisions could have been taken away from us if we didn’t have these in place. I was also glad to know that if I needed your help, you were always there at the end of the telephone should I have required your help which gave me added ‘peace of mind’. As a consequence, I have explained to all my family, friends and clients how important these documents are and therefore have not hesitated in referring them to you. Thank you once again.
