CANNY house-hunters have been quick off the mark to reserve their dream property at a newly-launched development of family homes in Leeds.

Interest in The Hawthorns – which offers an excellent choice of three and four-bedroom homes from Redrow’s popular Heritage Collection – is soaring, with seven reservations made during the summer period, giving those purchasers a great opportunity to personalise their place to live before moving in.

Current prices start from £324,950 for a four-bedroom detached Stratford, where no stone has been left unturned to create a sought-after family home, with an open plan kitchen/dining room that’s perfect for socialising and a separate lounge for quieter moments.  An en-suite bathroom to the master bedroom, ground floor cloakroom and dedicated laundry space are just some of the practical touches included.

Just off the A6120 Leeds outer ring road, five miles to the north east of the city centre in the Cross Gates and Whinmoor district, The Hawthorns is perfectly positioned with local amenities close by, easy access to a vibrant city centre and with leafy countryside also on the doorstep.

“It’s no surprise people have already chosen to swoop quickly and make their reservation at The Hawthorns, with an ideally-placed location and generously-proportioned homes proving a popular combination,” said Patsy Aicken, sales director for Redrow Homes (Yorkshire).

“Reserving early in the process and off-plan is certainly a smart move, allowing the house buyer an opportunity to make the most of the choices and optional extras that allow them to put an individual stamp on their home from day one. Personal touches to their new home could include customising kitchen and bathroom fittings, choosing the positioning and style of sockets and switches and specifying preferred door handles and wardrobes.”

So far, a third of the reservations made at The Hawthorns have been through the government-backed Help to Buy scheme.

This scheme is particularly suited to first-time buyers, with the government providing a loan for up to 20% of the property's value, which is interest free for five years. With this loan, the purchaser would then only need a mortgage for 75% of the property value, and a 5% deposit.

Redrow also offers ‘Early bird’ registration for homes at The Hawthorns not yet officially released for sale. A small, refundable deposit will give someone ‘first shout’ when the property comes to the market.

That includes some three-bedroom detached homes and a soon-to-be-released four-bedroom Grantham townhouse, with maximised space derived from its three storeys and featuring three double bedrooms on one floor, with a master suite bedroom complete with en-suite on the top floor.

This family friendly home also boasts a kitchen/dining room just perfect for family get-togethers as well as a generously-spaced lounge with French doors opening out into the garden and bathing the property in light.

A four-bedroom detached Oxford show home is due to open later this year. In the meantime a sales office is opposite the site, Thursday to Monday inclusive from 10am to 5.30pm.
