Give the generic a miss this month!

My first trip to The Hyde Park Picture house assured me that it would not be my last.

This classic, old school theatre creates an even more encapsulating place to watch a film.

Although an old picture house it still broadcasts all the new and major films.

The Picture House also has a website and Facebook page, perfect for checking cinema times and upcoming films being shown at the Picture House. There is also a small concession stand within the cinema to get your classic popcorn.

However it is not just major blockbuster films that are shown the cinema also hosts a number of other films that correspond with themed nights or a chance to view old classics.

There are also family friendly events to look out for such as on Saturdays at 12 noon the Picture House hosts family friendly matinees (further details on website) where kids get in for just £1. There are also occasional BYOB (Bring Your Own Baby) showings providing a relaxed and easy environment for parents/carers to see a film and make some new friends.

Be inspired by The Oscars and immerse yourself in cinema this month. There’s still time to see Matthew McConaughey’s award winning turn in Dallas Buyer’s Club (until 6th March) or catch the atmospheric Gravity.

Watching a film in this environment you are transported back and appreciate the environment and atmosphere so much more.  It will be hard to return to what some may say is a ‘normal’ cinema after experiencing what The Hyde Park Picture House has to offer.
