Great pub/restaurant with very helpful and friendly staff in ThrapstonGood selection of beers, recommend the Peroni. Lots of seating inside and some outside. Modern inside. Serves food and what I saw looked decent and will be back to try some dinner.

Great food and the best service, near to a pretty river. A great pit stop if you're on a long car journey on the a14.
Also, our car wouldn't start in the car park after we had dinner and their cook ( I think his name was Tristan) came and attempted to jump start it and correctly diagnosed a problem with the starter motor (it was a loose connection).
What more can I say? Above and beyond good human beings.

DO NOT GO ANYWHERE ELSE! My husband and I have tried four of the hotels in the surrounding area and this is by far the best. Proper tea, coffee and hot chocolate making facilities with kettle, glasses, etc. that we've not found anywhere else. Our room (10) had a lovely en-suite with a gorgeous walk-in shower (with one small step up), plus lovely views over a horses paddock. It had its own side terrace, which was a real bonus, and no noise to speak of from the bar area (even when England scored the winning penalty against Colombia!). The staff are friendly, really helpful, kind and considerate. If we can book here every time from hereon in, we will. Little tiny things like a second chair, a hook in the bathroom area for sponges and a small fridge would really make this a five star plus experience for all. PS: breakfast was excellent also, made extra nice by a lovely, friendly, smiling face. Cannot fault the whole experience.
