Went here for lunch after a walk around Thrapston Lakes.
The pub is very warm and welcoming. There was a cosy fire blazing , which added to the atmosphere.
As we were a large group of people, we were seated in an annexe.
The staff were very attentive but not over attentive.
The food was delicious. I only had a snack bite of Brie cheese bites with cranberry sauce, and this was a very generous portion.
Very tasty. The others in the group opted for the traditional roast, and there were very positive comments, particularly about the quality of the meat.
Although I dont live far from this establishment, this was my first visit, but it definitely won't be the last.
We had to park on the road as the car park was full, but it was only a short walk to the front gates.
I would definitely recommend this place.
Well done, the Woolpack Inn.

Good spot to stop and eat. Easy to get to just off the A14 so you don’t have to use the services!
Staff could look up now and again so you don’t have to go get someone and smile as well so you feel welcome instead of an intruder.!
Food was delicious, hot and well priced.
Been twice now and I will return as I come along this way frequently for work.

Unfortunately, despite good posts relating to this Inn, we were very disappointed.
On arrival, for lunch, there was a loud brunch party going on, although this did finish at 1400hrs. Presumably because of this, despite there being another restaurant area with seating available, we were sat in the bar, which was cold.
The food was fine but not overly hot and was cold after a short time. There was provision for GF, V & VE but not, specifically, dairy free. It was felt better to hope/assume from the food on the menu what was suitable, rather than ask, ok for an intolerance but not if one's allergic; then you MUST ask.
The lavatories weren't the best and the hand drier was poor. When asked where the disabled lavatory was, the answer was 'down the steps'! There was, obviously, no provision, as a member of the party discovered.
Parking was good, no problems there.
I wouldn't recommend this place.

Very close to the North Northamptonshire Council offices. We adjourned here for a debrief after speaking publicly on "Save Weekley Hall Wood" at a planning inquiry tonight. The Woolpack Inn was very cosy, had lovely friendly and efficient service. Sally was even given some treats (after asking my permission first!) Highly recommended

A superb Xmas dinner experience , sadly the review is about the rooms which obviously we didn't use as it was a visit to dine only.
