The Teenage Market
Aged 16 - 21?
Fancy being your own boss and starting your own business?
Kettering Markets is opening its stalls to young people, aged between 16–21, when it will host its first ever Teenage Market. The market will take place on Saturday 17th May on High Street, as part of a ‘Love Your Local Market’ campaign. You won't need to bring any equipment with you, we'll provide you with a stall so just bring along the produce you wish to sell.
The Teenage Market is the perfect opportunity for markets to connect with their local town’s population of young people, by providing a free platform for them to be entrepreneurial, try out a new business idea and sell creative products.
Valerie Hitchman, Head of Community Services, said: “The Teenage Market gives young people already selling online a chance to trade at their local market. It also inspires young people who have never considered the idea of trading on a market, to have a go.”
Stalls and Insurance will be free for young traders on Saturday 17th May 2014. This is truly an amazing opportunity for anyone wanting to get their work out on display and make some money whilst doing so. If you want to get a foot on the ladder as an independent trader, there are really no excuses!
Cllr Derek Zanger Portfolio Holder for Regeneration, said: “By providing young people with a platform to express themselves, The Teenage Market will produce a feel good factor in and around the High Street. It also gives people of all ages a reason to visit the town and I’m sure it will bring business to surrounding shops too.”
