Quite possibly the best starter I’ve ever had. Caesar salad with King Prawns, Crispy Bacon and pickled Quail’s Eggs - perfection. Rest of the food was great too.
Lovely, friendly atmosphere- will return

Myself and two friends were walking around the Island and chose The Bass and Lobster for our dinner in Gorey. We had an excellent meal, highlights, fish soup and Lamb Ballotine, but everything we ate was very good.
We were staying about 25 minutes walk away, so after walking all day decided to take the bus home. We asked the very friendly waiter/barman and the waitress/maitre d' where the bus stop was, (just over the road) and headed off to get on the bus. When I went to pay I realised I had lost the group kitty and had just paid with a card when the barman leapt onto the bus with the kitty bag in his hand which he had found under the table.
A lovely honest meal cooked and served by lovely honest people.
Thanks to all, you saved us a trek back in the morning and made what had been a special evening all the better.

From the lovely welcome by Kirsty through to the home made bread, hummus and pickled quail egg amuse bouche to the delicious southern fried scallops (try them - they are a revelation!), and lunchtime set menu for £25 each (changes monthly). This welcoming air conditioned restaurant is a delight. A friendly, knowledgable and attentive front of house team, coupled with a chef who gets the very best out of the excellent locally sourced ingredients made this a lunch to remember for a long time. Outside dining for al fresco lovers and a separate room with several tables available for dog owners. The main restaurant is spacious and well laid out, separate from the dog friendly area for those who don’t bring their pets for lunch! If we lived on Jersey this would be a regular (with or without dog) dine out venue for us.

This is a must visit if you visit Jersey. the menu is extensive in as much as I wanted about five of the starters and six of the main courses but apparently have to settle for one. To overcome this we agreed to swap share our courses som we could both try everything.
As ever dinner starts with the homemade bread of the day with olives, garlic oil and hummus. If I had a main course of that I would have been happy. We chose with the tempura king prawns as one starter and the scallops and chorizo for the other. The tempura was exceptionally light and the asian slaw, coconut aioli and chilli jam perfectly complimented it whilst the scallops came with chorizo, and a pea puree which defied description. Both excellent.
For mains we had the pork and the seabags which again were beautifully presented and amazing to each. The restaurant promotes local produce and my god, they know how to use it. For dessert we went off the specials board for a summer fruit pavlova and a egg custard. The meringue in the pavlova almost floated it was so light.
We were sat at a table next to a wall with one of Raymond Blanc's recipes beautifully framed. If they put their own recipes up, I would be taking those pictures home with me.
Great staff, great food, great atmosphere

Every month my partner and I go out for a nice relaxed lunch and have to say that this place is by far our favourite.
We simply cannot recommend The Bass & Lobster highly enough - seasonal, locally sourced and foraged ingredients - Kirsty at front of house is absolutely delightful, sharing her and chef hubbys passion for great food 😊
Always get a big smile and a warm welcome.
The food is exceptional having now been countless times; lazy lunch, Sunday lunch and evenings, I can honestly say we have never had a bad meal here.
These three courses x 2 for £25 each (both had soup and creme brûlée) and the wine won’t set you back a fortune either. Great food, great value for money x

So full disclosure: when we first saw the menu, we thought it looked a bit pretentious. But we were wrong: the food was AMAZING! We almost went out of our way to come back the next day. The homemade bread and hummus were a great start and the food only got better from there. The menu features local ingredients (see the signs in the bathroom for details) and the dishes made the most of them. Dessert was delicious with a selection of interesting ice creams to choose from, including Stilton blue cheese. An unexpected highlight was the Bloody Mary sorbet - again, we were sceptical seeing it on the menu, but we could definitely have gone for seconds. The owners were really friendly and welcoming; they were attentive to all their customers and really cared about you having a great experience. Finally, we thought the value was excellent: the price was very reasonable for the quality of food, especially in Jersey where restaurants can be quite expensive (and we're used to London prices!). We will be recommending this place to anyone going to Jersey and will definitely be back.

My family and I have been back a few times to the Bass and Lobster and the menu is one of the best we have seen in jersey. My dad is a retired chef and cannot fault the menu and chefs expertise with flavours and food combinations. every meal he has been very impressed. The staff cannot do enough for you, the husband is chef and the wife is front of house and makes you feel so welcome. Highly recommend visiting here if you are new to jersey or a long term island resident. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Outstanding food and service.
An exciting, varied and different menu with local specials too. The combinations work brilliantly and along with the presentation is worthy of a Michelin star.
Friendly, attentive service from both waiters. We left promising to recommend to everyone we know.

The Bass and Lobster is an absolute must if eating out in Jersey. The food ranges from high quality if standard fare (burger, steak, veggie chana) to truly innovative, would-compare-well in any capital city. This is one of Jersey’s best without doubt. As a local this is a regular for us - we’re privileged to have an establishment like this close by.
Set in the lovely village of Gorey, it’s a close to perfect night with a drink the Dolphin (solid local) to start and a 5 minute walk back along the lovely harbour to the Bass and Lobster for an excellent meal. Decent wine list, food for pretty much everyone - and the staff are lovely too.

We had an exceptional lunch with friends from the three course set menu today. The starters in particular were excellent. The dessert choices are limited but the range of flavours of home made ice cream make up for it.

We have eaten here a few times, & each time have been impressed with the excellent food & service. We live on the other side of Jersey, but this is still the restaurant that we would treat ourselves to.

First timers but will definitely be back. The food and the service were both excellent. Food choices were varied and different to the normal. The scallop & king prawn starters were so different. The sea bass and salmon were cooked to perfection, the burger didn’t defeat my son. The black butter ice cream is superb! Great value as well.

Quite easily some of the best food I have eaten on the island of Jersey. The table service was friendly and efficient, particularly the Maitre' d. There are many quirky choices on the menu including a range of home made ice creams and water ices. I tried the Stilton ice cream and Mango and Coriander sorbet, they were both delicious and provided a wonderful finale to my meal.
