Didn't start well as I think there was a slight mis-communication - we had pre-booked(which you must do) and when we arrived, were told that the table had been let as we were late (we were 15mins early)!! - once this was cleared up and was very quick, we were seated and given a drink on the house for the confusion - this was a really nice touch and not necessary as things like this can happen and it set the tone for the evening - its not a large restaurant - about 60 covers but really busy and deservedly so - starter of crab was fantastic - especially the Tian and then we had a slight delay with mains, however, was offered another drink whihc gain, being in the hospitality trade wasn't necessary as we are all struggling but just showed how the team wanted to look after the customers - mains arrived and were excellent - fish was superb!! - I would rate this a "must visit" if you are on Jersey!!

Absolutely loved the meal we had recently at Bass and Lobster. From the bread Hummus and olives, King prawns tempura and tempura soft crab with crab meat starters plaice and chips, sea bass with spinach and cheese croquette, bombay potatoes and spicy cauliflower. It was all beautifully presented and tasted amazing. The best meal of our holiday. Can highly recommend

From the name I thought this would be a gastropub, but no this is proper fine dining. If you just want quantity then this is not for you. Sensibly sized, well-presented, a little inventive, but mainly just tasty food. It has actually been many years since I’ve had such good service, and three excellent courses. Highly recommend.

We are not normally big fish eaters but we were definitely converted with the well thought-out and special dishes

We stopped for lunch, oysters, scallops and crab. Wow. I mean Wow. I’d thoroughly recommend this for a light lunch but the menu is extensive and I’m confident that a full dinner would be equally excellent. Service is lovely, charming lady maitre D.

Just a fabulous experience from start to finish. Kirsty is perfect as front of house and Dave an amazing chef. Such delicious creations, a harmony on the pallet. A must visit in Gorey.

This is our first trip to Jersey but won't be our last and we will definitely be back to the Bass and Lobster. The menu and food were outstanding. All beautifully presented (we don't usually take photos of our food but felt we had to take a shot of our starters) our main course burgers were outstanding with a wonderful Plum Bakewell and huge range of homemade ice creams as our choice of desserts. The staff are fun and friendly and work so hard as a small team but nothing is too much trouble. Well done for weathering the Covid storm and we hope to visit again some time soon. Thank you so much.

We’d booked ahead to try Bass and Lobster and were glad we had as it was full on the Tuesday night we visited.
The meals were of the highest standard, the restaurant was buzzing and the staff and owner were enthusiastic, helpful but never intrusive. We had three courses each and all were well presented, beautifully tasty and representative of a really strong, varied menu overall. Excellent restaurant.

The Bass & Lobster is a must visit restaurant for locals, and visitors, alike. Booking in advance is recommended. We had the set lunch on a Tuesday, and it was packed. The service by Kirstie, and her team was very attentive, informative, and clearly showed a passion for what they produce, here. Chef Thorpe Jones and his crew served up mouth-watering dishes showcasing the best of locally sourced, and seasonal produce with very well balanced and innovative flavours. The portions on our 3 course £25 lunch were generous. The path set here by the Bass and Lobster, in sourcing locally, and adhering to the seasons, appeals, greatly to my ethos of how it should be done, and also makes them a prime candidate for Michelin's new 'Green Star' award introduced last year.

We stayed in Gorey recently and enjoyed the Bass and Lobster so much we returned a further 3 times during the course of our 7 night stay!

We always received a really warm welcome from Kirstie and Fran along with excellent service. The restaurant it's self has a lovely atmosphere, and you can opt to dine inside or out.

The food here is stunning - very inventive and made using high quality local produce, which Kirstie and Dave are very proud of (and rightly so!).

We tried so many beautiful dishes, including tempura oysters, octopus, duck, red mullet, scallops and various different wonderful flavours of Ice creams. All were cooked to perfection, seasoned and balanced beautifully.

Highly recommended!

Not the most palatial of venues, not the most expansive menu, but delicious food, generous portions and fantastic friendly staff all at great value.
We went on the £25 set menus that consists of a three course meal with a pre starter bread board and post dessert coffee and chocolates.
A la Carte seemed to be less favourable value but the food looked to be just as delicious.
We would highly recommend this to all and will be back to try out their Autumn £20 set menu in October.

Absolutely fantastic, every aspect of the evening was top notch. The staff extremely professional, all the food, and I mean all the food was to Michelin standard, if you are thinking of going don’t hesitate but make sure you book otherwise you are likely to be disappointed. Not expensive considering the quality.

We got lucky rang up and got a booking but had 90 mins in order to have our meal as they needed the table later. We were not disappointed it was amazing the wife had homemade lamb and chorizo burger with Parmesan fries it was delicious never tasted a more beautiful burger like this before. Pity it closed early on Sunday as we would of tried again to get in to sample the wonderful menu. It’s closed also on Mondays so best book this place if you can.

The reviews are right , book before you travel and don’t miss this fantastic restaurant. The food and service is first class . We had Oysters natural to start and they were out if this world , scallops was on the menu but we wanted just cooked with butter this was no problem for the chef to prepare and they were just so cooked in butter with some dill and caramelised on the top . For our mains we had the catch of the day “ mackerel fillets” and the Veal both spot on, we finished with creme brûlée and a local cheese platter toasted with a glass of two of New Zealand savingon Blanc - Thankyou for a great evening

We recently visited Jersey and had booked Bass & Lobster sometime in advance. We had to give it 5* and write a review! The menu was amazing and pretty much everything from the bread to the ice creams and sorbets were homemade. The layers and complexity of flavour combinations across all the courses we had were so tasty. We had scallops, Fukha goats cheese, monkfish, mackerel & plaice (catches of the day), smoked pavlova, ghost chilli and cucumber sorbet… The only problem was that we couldn’t try more of the available dishes on the menu. The menu, food and perfectly attentive staff means we will be back as soon as we are able..Fabulous..
