Only had one night here but couldn't recommend more highly. Attention to detail and service was 5 star. Congratulations.

We stayed at the Pomme d'Or from 3-6th June and couldn't fault it.

Check in was speedy, they upgraded us to an executive room which was small but elegant and well appointed. The receptionist was friendly and well-informed.

We used the pool at its sister hotel, The Merton; it was lovely to have a quiet, relaxing swim and there were some slides but I think I'd try the AquaSplash the next time.

Breakfast was very good, geared towards UK tourists although there were some pastries, cooked meat and fish. I'd have preferred to see more prepared fresh fruit (there was pineapple and melon) as the pears and apricots were tinned.

The seafood buffet on Fri night was excellent, although unlike some other contributors, I wouldn't recommend it for those who aren't real seafood lovers; there are some non-fish options but (understandably!!) not many so it wouldn't really be worth the money. I however definitely got my £22.50 worth!!! Don't be daunted by crab claws and langoustines, the staff are more than willing to help you out!!!

The Pomme is in an excellent location, right on Liberation Square and beside the bus station. Travelling around the island by public transport was a really positive experience - buses ran bang on schedule and were very cheap. The set up in Liberation Station was the best I've ever encountered.

All in all, this was a fantastic trip, can't wait to go back!!!

Yeah, nice place.

Room a good bit smaller than the website had led me to believe. Good & quiet, up on the 5th floor. Free wifi worked well & was reasonably fast.

Staff were nice - especially the Kenyan guy who runs the downstairs bar - and with the exception of Mr. Grumpychops who seems to run the main restaurant (somebody should tell him that the fashion for supercilious waiters went out several decades ago).

Food was good, and IMHO good value, too. It's a carvery / buffet, so maybe not ideal for a special occasion, but I'd go back. The local 'Liberation' beer available at the bar was pretty cloudy & not really up to scratch.

Location of the hotel is brilliant.

The food in the cafe just to the side of the restaurant is pretty good, too, we thought.

I agree with most other reviewers that the Pomme d'Or is excellent value for money and in a very convenient location. The bus from/to the airport stops 50 yards away and unless you're a family there's no need to hire a car. We found the buses very good value and, most importantly, reliable. Everything ran within a minute or two of the timetable. The staff at the hotel were unfailingly friendly and helpful even to the point of advising on other restaurants despite their own excellent offering. I also concur with the the previous recommendation for the Friday night Seafood Buffet - from oysters to battered cod and everything in between. The bream was particularly tasty. You can refill as often as you like and it was all top quality.
The rooms were fine - nothing to criticise which sounds a bit negative but isn't meant to be. They were good, typical 3/4 star rooms, not too large but not too small and spotlessly clean - but nothing to get ecstatic about. There was some noise from nearby pubs in the evenings but not too much and not too late.
Overall the Pomme d'Or makes a great choice for a weekend break based within walking distance of everything you need.

I chose this hotel based on the glowing Trip Advisor reviews and must confess I was a little disappointed. Restaurant and cocktail bar service was painfully slow, but I must say the quality of the menu and food at dinner more than made up for this. The room was somewhat jaded and the TV system primitive by modern hotel standards - film and internet services were not active and there was only a small selection of channels. The hotel decor was also somewhat tired. Some rooms are a pretty long walk from the (slow) lifts. Rear rooms can be noisy with unsightly views. Can't fault the position of the hotel though - two minutes from the shopping and business centre and the restaurant/front rooms overlook Liberation Square and the marina.

My girlfriend and I stayed at the Pomme D'or for three nights during the May Day bank holiday. The hotel is located in central St Helier which creates the only downside that the car park is a five minute walk away. The hotel was full both the Friday and Saturday nights which meant that breakfast was very busy but the staff quickly found a table and no signs of the endless food running out!

We had an executive room on the top floor with seaviews and everything was as you would expect with modern furniture and a comfortable bed. The exec rooms have a desk and couch area which I presume the other rooms don't. Good views of the harbour.

If we went to Jersey I don't think we would stay at this hotel again as we would prefer to stay in St Brelade or St Aubin as the location/bars/restaurants are better. But the weekend offer of 3 nights for the price of 2 makes this hotel difficult to resist! Would happily stay here if I wanted to stay in St Helier again.

This is simply the best hotel we've ever stayed in for friendly efficient service and cleanliness. The central location and quality of the room made it a perfect base for a relaxing break. The food was exceptionally good and very reasonably priced. All the staff were well trained, very friendly, nothing was too much trouble - and they seemed genuinely interested in our comfort and enjoyment. Attention to detail was incredible - our hotel window was actually composed of two double glazed windows with 4 inches in between, to eliminate just about all outside street noise. When we go back to Jersey we wouldn't consider staying anywhere else.

We stayed at the Pomme d'Or on Valentines night and were very impressed with the value for money, service, quality of food. It was a super evening. In the morning there was a choice from a large and varied buffet breakfast. Service was efficient and friendly. Highly recommended.

From the moment we arrived to the moment we left we thoroughly enjoyed our stay...The staff was pleasant and helpful, the decor was classy and elegant, the food was fresh and VERY prepared, and our room was one of the best I've stayed in in Europe. We had a fabulous marina view! Highly recommend the Friday night Seafood Buffet---unbelievable variety and the quality of the food was excellent. My husband is not a seafood eater, but he was able to find other items he could enjoy..There were no downsides to staying here---I'd go back in a heartbeat!

We stayed here for 3 nights in Feb and thoroughly enjoyed it . Even though we arrived well before the allocated check in time, the hotel allowed us to check in to our room. Our room had recently been refurbished and even though it didnt have a view it was clean, tidy and comfortable.
Our accomodation included breakfast and i think i can safely say it was one of the best i have ever tasted ! The staff were very friendly and happy to help.
The location is great too, a few steps from the central bus station and in the centre of St Helier. I would certainly recommend this hotel.

We stayed here for 2 nights last week. Desk staff were very welcoming and helpful, we were checked in quickly and went up to our room. Unfortunately not very nice, decor was dated and overlooked a bar which we thought could be a problem. One call to the desk, and Joseph ? (lovely guy), re allocated us a MUCH nicer room. No sea view, but that didnt bother us, we overlooked a side street. Lovely room, very nice decor and well equipped. Joseph also came out onto the street to show us exactly where to park our car, and we got parking tickets from the desk. Early evening we received a call to check we were happy with our room, a very nice touch. One little gripe - the hairdryer is nowhere near a mirror, a bit of a problem for ladies blow drying their hair.
St Helier on Saturday night is lively to say the least - the NOISE from the street in the early hours was incredible, and it seemed that as soon as the revellers went to bed the street cleaning machines came out. I have honestly had quieter nights sleep in the middle of New York! I believe you can request an inward facing room if the noise bothers you. Sunday night was much better.
Breakfast was excellent , fruit, breads, cold meats or cooked buffet. But the coffee - eeugh!!!!
Overall a great stay, the staff were unfailingly polite, welcoming and cheerful, and I'm sure I actually heard my husband addressed by name after just one night!

We visited our daughter, she recommended us the hotel. And it was really really nice! We had a free upgrade to one of the premier rooms with a sea view! Everyone was very helpful and friendly. Staff over all is wonderful! We really liked it and we will stay in the Pomme D'Or if we are going to come back one day!!

The Pomme d'Or is in a perfect location. Its right next to the Liberation Bus Station where you can easily get a bus to anywhere on the Island for a flat fee of £1/£1.50. The main shopping area is a short walk away, as are many restaurants and bars, also plenty of nightclubs if that is your scene; all in all something suitable for all ages.

Breakfast (which was included in our room rate) was excellent, huge variety to choose from and the service was great! We also had dinner in the Harbour Room Restaurant (there is also an A La Carte restaurant but we didnt go there), again the food was excellent; buffet style carvery, loads to choose from and lots of seafood choices for the cold starters. Try and get a window seat with a view over Liberation Square!

We had a room at the rear of the hotel which was a little noisy from the bars in the street below on the Friday night (but nothing too bad!). The room was a nice size with all the usual bits, TV, internet, tea, coffee and biscuits, iron/ironing board and trouser press, hairdryer etc. Bathroom again was a nice size and very clean.

If your looking for a nice hotel in a central location then I would definately recommend the Pomme d'Or!

We visited at the end of July for a 3 day break with another couple, using the 3 for 2 offer that is available from time to time.
The weather was perfect which is always a good start ! The desk staff were very helpful when we arrived, explaining about the car parking and payment system in operation. We had upgraded to executive rooms and although good they lacked a safe and a mini bar. Everything was clean and modern but the air con was a bit erratic - at times a little too cold. Our room looked over the roof - not very exciting but our friends room looked out over the street which was much better until the evening when we realised it was not the place to be. It seems every youngster on the island visits Liberation Square and the bars around on a Friday and Saturday evening which made it very lively, but unfortunately very noisy until after 2.00am. Sunday night was totally different.
However the food and the service was 1st class. We were advised by a local to use the hotel restaurant on Friday evening for the seafood buffet which is apparently highly recommended. It did not fail ! It was superb, one of the best we have ever seen beautifully presented and excellent value for money. Breakfast was equally good and again there was a huge selection of hot and cold foods to choose from all freshly prepared. It was a lovely break and we liked the location of the hotel. Yes I'd use it again but be selective with the room you are allocated

This is a very good quality hotel located extremely conveniently to access all locations. The staff and service were excellent. The buffet restaurant on the Friday night was a very good standard and really good value for money. The hotel needs a little updating but you could not fault the quality or the service. The only down side to it was that it was noisy outside and although it is all double glazed there was still an element of sound disturbance. Although it did not affect us too much you need to ensure your room is not located at the back of the hotel.
We had pre-arranged a sailing trip direct with the sailing company which was fabulous. Very expensive but it was a super experience, the alcohol flowed and the food was very good . We had friends with us on the weekend and it was our wedding anniversary so we wanted to splash out so to speak!
The indulgence continued with all the great eateries of which there are many to suit all tastes etc but the sun shone which was definitely a bonus and made our long weekend all the better.
You do need a car to get out and about to see the island and the car hire is very reasonable, however, the taxis are quite expensive.
The Pomme D'or is certainly a hotel we would recommend if you want quality service which is excellent value for money , the positives certainly far outweighed the one or two minor negatives that we have highlighted.

This was our 4th visit to Pomme D'Or and it is so nice to be welcomed back. Staff are well trained and provide and excellent service. Breakfast is one of the best hotel breakfasts we have had.
The Cafe Bar on the ground floor is a great place to relax and offers a excellent lunch menu and evening menu.

The rooms are comfortable and worth upgrading to harbour view.

Highly recommended

Stayed at this hotel over the bank holiday. My partner and I stayed in an executive room at the side of the building. I would say that it's not worth paying the extra for a harbour view as the rooms do not have balconies. Apart from an initial glich of the air con not working in the room which was rectified immediately by moving rooms, we really enjoyed our stay. Very friendly staff, good location and nice breakfast. We booked the seafood buffet for Friday evening which was nice but overpriced. The bus from the airport stops directly outside the hotel which cost £1. There is a bus station opposite the hotel which will take you to all the major attractions.

I was a wee bit worried about the Pomme after reading a few reviews, but I needn't have been. The hotel and staff were great.
Excellent value for money. Nothing was too much trouble, and I recommend the Harbour Room Seafood buffet on a Friday night.
My only tiny complaint was the room at the back of the hotel was a bit noisy with the young revellers decanting the clubs in the middle of the night. All in all and excellent choice and would go back in a heart beat.

My wife and I have just returned from a weeks stay at the Pomme d'Or Hotel in ST. Helier Jersey on a half board basis. This hotel is one of the best hotels we have stayed , and an excellent choice .We booked a Premier Room with views over the Liberation Square, Marina, and Ferry port. The hotel was tastfully decorated ,clean , with lots of elegant charm. The restaurant was first class with a wide choice menu to suit all tastes .The service was very good. All the staff at the hotel are friendly and courteous, which helped to make our holiday very enjoyable. The hotel is in an ideal location very close to main shopping area , bus station, marina and ferry terminal should you wish to take a day trip to Saint Malo in France. It is indeed an excellent hotel.

This was my second visit to the Pomme D'or and I was very pleased to see that the high standards of care and cleanliness I enjoyed on my last visit have been nurtured even further.
It was good to recognise many of the staff and their attention to detail especially in the restaurant was very much appreciated.
Friday night is Seafood night an occasion not to be missed (make sure you book). I can honestly say I have never seen such a wonderful display of fish and I can thoroughly recommend the delicious fishcakes.

My husband and I have just returned after staying 5 nights at the Pomme d'or and feel we have been throughly spolit. Our room was a reasonable size, clean and well kept throughout our stay. We did not have a view to the Harbour but this was not a problem as at the back of the hotel it was very quiet, which we preferred. On arrival we were allowed to check into our room early, was given a welcome pack of maps etc and places to go and see. Breakfast was included in our price and it was superb, lots of choices and filled you up for the day. We used the carvery, the cafe bar and also had the seafood buffet on the friday night, we could not fault any of it, the food was lovely, the staff were very pleasant and helpful and could not do enough for you. We found the history of the hotel fascinating and we could not fault the service and quality of the hotel at all, would definately recommend and hopefully visit again. The hotel is well situated near the shops and just across the road from the bus station and a few minutes walk to the lovely beach. Perhaps when we visit again we would hire a car, but on our first visit to Jersey we managed to get around ok by bus, the fares are very reasonable and it is advisable if you are going to do a lot of travelling to buy the three day pass, get the No. 15 bus from the airport to the hotel as it is about a 50 metre walk away, and only costs £1.50 per person. I cannot wait to visit Jersey again and the Pomme

Stayed here as a group of 9 adults for three nights in late July. We were very impressed by the hotel - it's in a great location, is of a high standard throughout, has very friendly and courteous staff and is very clean and comfortable.

The only problem was with one of the rooms smelling of smoke but the couple were immediately upgraded to an executive room.

Breakfast was excellent each day with a wide range of food available, good service and no queues when we visited. We ate in the restaurant one evening and had a carvery, which was very good. We also ate in the bar which had a good choice of food, although service was a little slow that night (but we were the last to arrive on a very busy evening).

Jersey was lovely and we would definitely return for a longer trip to see more of it.

Just had a lovely short break in Jersey for four days, stayed at the Pomme D'Or Hotel in St Helier. Centrally located near to the harbour and the front and a short walk to the great shops. What a lovely, quiet ,hidden secret Jersey is! Its like England thirty years ago. The hotel is lovely... fantastic service staff couldn't do enough for us. The room was at the front, you do need to ask for that.. air conditioning which was needed as the weather was fab! Lovely big room with large bathroom and all mod cons. The hotel has a gentile feel about it , sort of faded grandeur but really immaculate at the same time. The staff are not your usual young things from the new world or Eastern Europe, but people who may have worked there for years and seem to take a pride in the place, we loved It ! We ate in the resataurant for one night and it was a lovely meal with great service and a very nice wine list. Equally there are plenty of places to eat in the town. We particularly enjoyed the Scirroco Restaurant, Jersey Museum for lunch and the seafood place in the market. The breakfast was really good, a fantastic display of everything you could think of. We will definately go back again, what with the short flight, the lovely people and the fanatastic weather, I think Jersey is a hidden secret a little out of vogue and I hope its stays that way ! (PS go to the races and Reg's garden if you get the opportunity.)

We loved this hotel from the moment that we arrived. The welcoming foyer and smiling staff on reception made us feel wonderfully at home. We had stayed the previous year at The Merton, a sister hotel to the Pomme d'Or, but had been completely put off by the number of children there, not our thing at all. Having said that the buffet at The Merton spoilt us and although we found the buffet at the Pomme d'Or lovely, it certainly did not have the Wow factor that we had previously encountered. The restaurant staff, however, were absolutely superb and cannot praise them enough. To be so warmly welcomed on each occasion that we went in, to be asked on our first morning "would you care to serve yourself at the buffet or may we serve you at the table?" shows how they really care about the service that they give - nothing is too much trouble - excellent.
We had upgraded our room to an executive level as we do enjoy the extra space, which this certainly did have. Beautifully clean and done so very unobtrusively too. Even to finding the shower curtain had been removed for cleaning whilst we were at breakfast but back up when we returned later. Toiletries replaced when used. Again excellent.
Will definitely continue to use this wonderful hotel for any future visit.
